-
You're curious about learning more about the history and philosophy of yoga - but aren't necessarily ready to step in front of a class and become a teacher.

What You're Learning
Our 200-Hour YTT is a holistic training that blends asana, anatomy, philosophy, meditation, and pranayama so you graduate with a deep understanding of yoga beyond the poses. You’ll gain practical teaching skills—sequencing, cueing, adjustments, and space-holding—through hands-on practice and personalized feedback in our intimate small-group setting. Rooted in the Yoga Sutras and authentic philosophy, the curriculum is designed not just to certify teachers, but to create transformative growth and prepare you to share yoga with confidence anywhere in the world.

Module 1: Root Chakra
(Week 1)
The root chakra is the color red and is at the base of the spine. The root chakra is the support system for all the other chakras. When it’s in balance, we feel grounded and stable.
In the first 25 hour module of this 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, we will study the history of yoga (the origins of sanskrit, the origins of yoga and the branches of yoga). We will be introduced to energy and subtle bodies through the koshas, pranayama, the chakras, and the philosophy of the 8 limbs of yoga. We will workshop the main standing poses of yoga (tadasana, down dog, the warrior series, etc.) In this module, we will also learn foundational coaching skills to support ourselves in interacting with students, clients, and building our relationships. We will also do the "How to Meditate" three day course and learn the Mantra Meditation "1 Giant Mind" tradition.

Module 2: Sacral Chakra
(Week 1)
The sacral chakra is the home of creativity, sensuality, and emotions. When it is in balance, we feel excited about being alive and able to go with the flow.
In this module each participant will learn about the philosophy of yoga in depth and posture workshop surya namaskar, or vinyasa flow. The students will complete eight hours of asana, meditation and pranayama practice, and practice teach one sequence.

Module 3: Solar Plexus
(Week 1)
The third chakra is all about stepping into our personal power. When this chakra is in balance, we feel confident, have high self-esteem, and believe in our own potential.
This module will include an in-depth study into the ethics of yoga, devote time to mudras, bandhas, and meditation, and posture workshop core strengthening poses. Each participant will complete ten hours of practice and have one practicum teaching experience.

Module 4: Heart Chakra
(Week 2)
The heart chakra is the bridge between the inner world and the outer world. When it is in balance, we can accept, love and forgive both ourselves and others.
In this module, we will be introduced to pranayama techniques and examine in detail back bending and heart-opening poses. We will look at anatomy and how yoga supports health, sensation and pain, and trauma and PTSD. We will learn how to adapt our offerings to meet many students' needs, from prenatal yoga to trauma-informed yoga.

Module 5: Throat Chakra
(Week 2)
The throat chakra is all about communication and represents integrity of speech. When it’s in balance, our thoughts, words and actions are all in line. We live with authenticity and integrity.
In this module, we will explore teaching and assisting forward fold poses in yoga. We will learn in-depth about the musculoskeletal system, including the fascia, tissue, and muscles. We will learn about the joints, the spine, and the core. We will learn how to teach Mindful Let Go classes - yin/restorative-inspired classes.

Module 6: Third Eye Chakra
(Week 3)
The third eye chakra is about intuition. When this chakra is in balance, we move beyond the surface and are able to see the world around us with clarity, insight and wisdom.
In this module we will study physiology, including the vagus nerve, the stress and relaxation response, and respiration and anatomy. We will workshop twisting poses from yoga. Students will be introduced to the foundations of sequencing yoga classes, including class elements, choosing and arranging poses, and segmenting a class. We will learn how to teach Yin Yoga Classes.
Online Work
As part of our 2026 Yoga Teacher Training, we have online anatomy lessons and online yoga practices that we recommend students do before arriving on the training, in order to have yoga practice. You can also do these online videos during free time whilst in Bali. They are a requirement for course completion.

Module 7: Crown Chakra
(Week 3)
The final chakra, the crown chakra, is awakened when all the other chakras are opened and balanced. When your crown chakra is in balance, you feel awake, alive, and in deep connection with yourself and the universe.
In the final module of this 200 Hour Training, you will be exposed to the necessary foundations for student safety, educated on how to adapt for various student types, and learn about teaching methodology and instruction.
You will learn about the business of yoga, including marketing, reaching your full potential as a teacher, and building revenue and business streams. You will put all of the pieces together from your training to create a final yoga class which will be taught to a group on graduation day. Additionally you will complete a final exam.

Alexandra
Hi! I am Alexandra, and I am the Lead Teacher at Mindful Bali. I have been teaching yoga since 2014 and living in Bali, Indonesia since 2021. Originally from Canada, I dreamed of following a career in yoga, but I didn't see how it would be financially possible. I got a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education in university, and immediately started teaching right after I graduated in the Middle East at International Private Schools.
I can only describe the feeling I had when I came to Bali for the first time as a feeling of coming home. That was in 2017. I then dreamed about the move to Bali for a long time. It was only when I quit drinking alcohol in 2019 that I was able to really start to focus my energy towards moving in the direction of working in yoga full time and moving towards Bali. In just two years I built up my online yoga community, The Mindful Life Practice, enough so that I could sustainably quit my job and move to Bali - and start running retreats and yoga teacher trainings here. Eventually I was able to build my own yoga shala, Mindful Bali, in my home in Pejeng. Now I live here full time, teaching regular classes and hosting events. I would love to meet you - either for a retreat, a training, or just dropping in for a class!

Marlen
Marlen is an experienced anatomy educator and yoga teacher with nearly a decade of teaching and YTT-trainer experience. She leads anatomy modules in 200hr and 300hr trainings, as well as Yin Yoga and TCM programs, and continuously updates her knowledge with the latest research in fascia, biomechanics, and nervous system science.
Her teaching integrates functional anatomy, postural assessment, myofascial release, and breath-driven movement to help students understand the mechanics behind safe and intentional practice.
Marlen’s approach is precise, embodied, and evidence-informed, supporting practitioners in improving mobility, reducing tension, and developing long-term structural awareness.

ID
Id's journey in Yoga began in 2014, when she stepped onto the mat for her first class. From that moment on, she knew that yoga was more than just a physical practice; it was a way of life. Despite juggling work and study, she dedicated herself to exploring and deepening her practice, knowing that this was her true passion.
As her love for Yoga grew, Id made the bold decision to leave her job and focus on teaching full-time. In 2015, she completed her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at The Yoga Barn. Since then, she has continued to expand her knowledge, studying Yin Yoga, Kashmir Shaivism, Mantra, and Assisting on Yoga Teacher Trainings.
For Id, teaching Yoga is not just a job, but a lifelong journey of learning and growth. As she shares her knowledge with her students, she continues to learn and evolve her own practice. Her teaching philosophy can be summed up in her own words: "My teaching is my learning, my learning is my teaching"
Id's inherent Bhakti nature, passion for Yoga and dedication to her students have made her a highly respected and sought-after teacher. She inspires her students to explore their own practice and to embrace yoga as a way of life. Whether she's leading a class or practicing on her own, Id is always eager to learn and grow - and she brings that same spirit of curiosity and exploration to her teaching.
We also have lots of guest teachers joining us for classes during our trainings in subjects like kundalini, sound healing, hypnotherapy, and more! Sometimes when Alexandra has YTT grads visiting she invites them to come in and teach a class. You'll get many diverse perspectives from your time here.
